School is out for summer! That means freedom for the kids and double-duty for us parents.

Blame it on hip-hop culture or pure peer pressure, but teens these days are always looking to stay on top of the trends. From "Mom, I need a new smart phone" to "Dad, I need your credit card for this new iPad I just won online," there's always something we're persuaded to go along with.

But what would you do if your 13 year old asked you to sign consent papers for them to get a tattoo or piercing? Willow Smith is only 11 years old, yet she just posted a pic of her new TONGUE RING!!!

Willow's fans and followers went crazy after seeing the photo.

"That awkward moment when you find out Willow Smith has a tongue piercing. She's 11," one person tweeted.

Another person chimed in on Twitter to point a finger at Will and Jada, tweeting: "Willow Smith is 11 and has a tongue ring. WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?"

As cool as Will and Jada may seem, it's hard to believe they would green-light this venture -- and they would have to under California state underage piercing laws.

Thankfully they didn't. Just as the hoopla surrounding the pic reached a fever pitch, Willow admitted the piercing was just a hoax: "It's fake... Sorry," she added to the Instagram photo.

Phew! We're relieved! But some parents that called into my show today said they WOULD take their kids, lil' sister, cousin, etc. to get a tattoo and/or piercing!

Justin Bieber had multiple tattoos before he was even 18 years old.  Even in Canada, you need parental consent, so who signed for him to get those? Obviously not David Letterman!
