It looks like the “Saw” franchise is making a comeback and this time around Chris Rock is teaming up with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures for the next film.

According to Deadline, Chris wrote a story that is being adapted by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. Chris is also on board to executive produce the film, which is scheduled to release in October of 2020.

Chris expressed his excitement for the project and said,

“I’ve been a fan of Saw since the first film in 2004. I am excited by the opportunity to take this to a really intense and twisted new place.”

Joe Drake, Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group chairman said,

“When Chris Rock came to us and described in chilling detail his fantastic vision that reimagines and spins off the world of the notorious Jigsaw Killer, we were all in.”
