Don't look now, but the Buffalo Sabres are finally good. Yes, the Sabres are good.

Buffalo is currently on the Western Canadian road trip and have won the first three games, which is hard for any team to do in the NHL.

The Sabres have defeated the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks, while scoring 15 goals in those three games. They've scored 22 total goals through their first five games (4-1 record). It took the 2014-2015 "tank" team 15 games to score 22 goals.

Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is having his breakthrough season. He's scored a goal in all five games to start the regular season, which is the first time a defenseman has accomplished that in NHL history, and he's playing with a ton of confidence -- assisting on Victor Olofsson's second goal of the game last night.

Sabres fans are over the moon with how the team has started the season, but fans and the players were surprised with who was waiting to greet them in the locker room after the win in Vancouver.

Former Sabres goaltender and future Hockey Hall of Famer, Ryan Miller was in the locker room to greet the Sabres after the game.

My favorite part of the video was the reaction from Alex Tuch, since he grew up watching Miller and idolized the likes of Miller, Briere, Drury, Vanek and Pominville.

The Sabres may have accelerated the playoff timetable by a year early, judging by how the first five games have gone. Even the lone loss against the Florida Panthers, the team hanged right there with arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference.

Dahlin becoming one of the best players in the league and a top five NHL defenseman is a big reason for this. He's flipped a switch this season.

The Sabres finish out the road trip on Tuesday night against the Seattle Kraken.
