Eric Wood traded in his pads for a microphone here but he's still very much a part of Bills Mafia.  This weekend they'll celebrate him with beer.

Eric Wood was a member of the Buffalo Bills from 2009 until 2017 when he was forced to retire due to a neck injury.  He is still a beloved member of Bills Mafia and will be honored a couple of ways this weekend.

First will be a launch party for his beer, brewed by Resurgence Brewing.  It's called Eric Wood's Blonde Beer.  The party happens on Saturday (10/8) at Resurgence.  You'll have a chance to meet Eric Wood and be one of the first to try the new beer.  They'll have all kinds of ways that you can make donations in order to raise money for the Evan Wood Fund.  It's a charity named after Eric's brother Evan who was born with severe cerebral palsy.  Unfortunately, Evan passed away at 11 years old.

Eric has always known the burdens that face families that have children with serious health issues and wants to do what he can to help them.  That's why he started the foundation and named it after his brother Evan.  The money raised has "an immediate, positive impact on the comfort and care of chronically ill children and their families at Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo."

The launch party for the beer starts at noon on Saturday.

That's not the only way he will be honored this weekend though.  He will also be the Buffalo Bills "Legend of the Game" to start the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon.

"It's special for me to be a Legend of the Game, and it's quite an honor. I'm back for each and every home game doing the radio broadcast for the Bills. So when there's a home game, I get to see the Legend of the Game and it's always great connecting with those guys." - Eric Wood

Every home game, the Bills bring back a legend to get the crowd hyped up.  Eric will have no trouble doing that this Sunday.
