The 44th President of the United States will be sharing his economic plan for the middle class at the University of Buffalo on Thursday, August 22! This marks the first time in 160 years that a sitting president will visit the UB Amherst campus.

UB President Satish K. Tripathi released a statement welcoming the president to the UB campus.

The University at Buffalo is very pleased and proud to host President Obama. The president’s visit to UB will be a historic occasion for our university and our community, and we are happy to provide a forum for the president to address issues important to our nation. Fostering a public space for discussing pressing societal issues is vital to our mission as a leading research university focused on advancing the greater public good. We are delighted to have the opportunity to host such a timely and meaningful conversation here at UB.

Tickets will be handed out Tuesday 8/20 at 5pm on a first come first serve basis.

It’s also possible that Obama will make other unscheduled stops in the Buffalo area. During his May 2010 visit to Buffalo, he made an unscheduled stop at Duff’s Famous Chicken Wings in Cheektowaga.

So let's think of some other cool places that we should invite President Obama to visit while he is in town. The Colored Musicians Club? The new skate park at the waterfront? The splashpad? Tell us in the comment section below.

And be sure to brush up on your common knowledge just in case you have a chance to have a conversation with the President. A few people we interviewed on "What Do You Know" didn't even know Obama's runningmate's name.
