As we inch closer to the end of the 2025/26 winter season, for a few days it looked like the groundhogs in New York and Pennsylvania got their predictions wrong and we were in for an early spring. However, according to a recent report from the National Weather Service, that seems to be not the case at all and tens of millions of people along the eastern seaboard are being warned to batten down the hatches because a major snow event is hitting the east coast.

While several cities in upstate New York are battling it out for the Golden Snowball award, people from Boston to New York and from Philadelphia to Washington DC are preparing for snow that could be measured in feet.

In fact, if current predictions stand, more than 13 million New Yorkers are in the path of a ton of snow, making city and state officials ring the alarm to take serious.

Drivers all across the tri-state area are being advised to limit their travel and to do their best to stay off the roads as the storm intensives Sunday night into Monday morning.

As with any major snow event there are some tangible things that you can do to make sure you prepared to ride out the storm if you find yourself stuck inside for a few days.
