New York State Police had issued an alert for 34-year-old Tatiana N. David, who was taken by force from 110 West Hill Circle in the Town of Ithaca. A witness said she was forced into a white SUV against her will. The suspect was the father of her child, 34-year-old Michael C. Davis, of Richmond, Virginia. Tatiana and the suspect were previously in a relationship and had a 4-year-old child.

Later that night, the situation went from bad to worse. The suspect's vehicle was spotted just before 9:30 pm on I-495 crossing into Virginia. The suspect was driving the vehicle and allegedly led Virginia State Police on a chase. He crashed the vehicle into a wooded area around 10:05 pm. Davis then began to allegedly shoot at police, who returned fire.

Tragically, Tatiana was killed during the shoot out. She was found dead outside of the SUV at the scene of the crash with a gunshot wound. The suspect was also wounded by gunfire and was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Davis is listed in critical condition.

Police are investigating and an autopsy is scheduled for Tatiana. My heart goes out to her family and child. She was kidnapped and killed on her birthday in such a tragic turn of events.
