New York State Lifting 11 PM Curfew For Some Businesses

Some businesses in New York will be allowed to stay open past 11 pm, starting Monday, April 5, 2021. According to WKBW, Governor Andrew Cuomo said today, Wednesday, March 17, 2021, that the 11 pm curfew will be lifted for certain industries. The types of businesses that will see the easing of restrictions will be casinos, movie theaters, bowling alleys, pool halls, gyms, and fitness centers. Unfortunately for folks looking to go out and have a good time at a bar or restaurant, the curfew for those establishments is still 11 pm. For catered events, the curfew is midnight.
As of March 19, Cuomo said that restaurants are allowed to increase their capacities. According to WKBW, Governor Cuomo announced that restaurants outside of New York City can increase capacity to 75 percent. Currently, restaurants are limited to 50 percent capacity.
