One of the best things to make a comeback from "the before times" is concerts. I used to love going to and hosting concerts before the coronavirus pandemic wreaked havoc on live shows. So it's great news to hear that another hip-hop show is hitting New York.

Hip-Hop legend and rap god Nasir Jones will be hitting the stage at the New York State Fair. The even better news is that he will be performing for free (with paid admission to the Fair). Nas will be the opening day performer. You'll be able to catch him at 8 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021. It will have been six years since his last performance at the State Fair when he takes the stage. His last show at the Fair in 2015 drew an audience of 30,000 people and was the 8th biggest crowd at the Fair, according to Syracuse.com.

The New York State Fair Will Take Place August 20 through September 6, 2021

The New York State Fair is scheduled to happen Friday, August 20 through Sunday, September 6, 2021, in Syracuse, NY. The Great New York State Fair is located at 581 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse, NY, 13209. In addition to Nas, there will be performances from REO Speedwagon, Sister Sledge, Melissa Etheridge, The Oak Ridge Boys and more. Visit the website for more.

Now that the COVID-19 vaccine has been administered to many New Yorkers, there are lots of fairs returning around the state. Check out my "2021 List of Fairs Happening Around New York Guide" to see all of the fairs that have announced their returns.
