When you grow up in Buffalo, you're taught a few simple things that you should know.

One is to always keep a snow brush in your car. Another is everyone is Polish on Dyngus Day. It's also called Western New York and NOT upstate New York.

One sports thing you're taught at an early age is to hate the Miami Dolphins. My dad always loved saying, "squish the fish." It's one of the most common sports catchphrases in Western New York.

So, it's cool when other professional sports teams take the time to show the Bills and Buffalo love by beating up on a team from Miami.

On Monday night, the Washington Nationals defeated the Miami Marlins by a score of 18-1...yes, 18-1.

The 17-run difference gave the Nationals the chance to include the Bills on their celebratory tweet and that the Bills aren't the only ones who can beat a team from Miami by three possessions.

My guess is the Bills will be beating the Dolphins by at least that much this season, especially if the 2020 regular-season finale is any evidence.

The Bills appreciated the love from the Nationals, by the way.
