Does Mitch Morse Want To Return To The Bills?
The Monday Night Football game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills was a homecoming for two former Bills players who left under uncertain circumstances.
Wide Receiver Gabe Davis, looking to cash in on his success in free agency, left the Bills at the end of last season and signed a new contract with the Jaguars. According to ESPN, Davis signed a 3-year deal worth $39 million, with an $11 million signing bonus and $24 of that contract guaranteed. This contract significantly increased from his rookie contract with the Bills in 2020.
Center Mitch Morse, a former team captain for the Bills, was released during the off-season due to the Bills' troubles with the NFL salary cap. Morse was due to make $8.5 million this season, and the Bills, who couldn't afford his contract this year, were forced to let him go. Morse then accepted an offer from the Jaguars, signing a two-year deal with Jacksonville worth just over $10 million.

After the Jags' terrible beating by the Bills on Monday Night Football, Morse spent a lot of time talking with and embracing his former teammates on the field and in the tunnel before heading towards the locker room.
He spent so much time talking to Head Coach McDermott and others from the Bills organization outside the Bills locker room that there is now some speculation that Morse was expressing his desire to return to Buffalo.
Do you think the Bills and Morse could work out a deal for him to leave the Jags and return to the 716 on a lower-value contract?
The NFL trade deadline is November 5th this year, so I guess we'll need to wait and see if a deal can be made for the all-pro center to return to Buffalo.
