Mayors of Buffalo and Jacksonville Place Friendly Wager On Playoff Game
The first round of the 2025/26 NFL Playoffs has arrived with tons of hype and fanfare as 14 teams start the process to earn their way to Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
As the games get started this weekend, the bets and wagers are going on from sea to shining sea, and from community to community. Whether it's online or on your favorite betting app, there are tons of people looking to get a little more than what they had before the playoffs started.
That includes famous people and those who hold important political offices, and things seem to be heating up in the halls of government in both Buffalo, New York, and Jacksonville, Florida.
The Mayors of Jacksonville and Buffalo Bet On The NFL Wild Card Game Between the Bills and the Jaguars
With the Buffalo Bills traveling to northern Florida to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, January 11, 2026, for a big NFL Wildcard matchup, fans all over the country are making their bets on who's going to grab a win. Those bets are flying in, and they even include the two most powerful people in both Buffalo and Jacksonville.
According to a post on Facebook, the Mayor of Jacksonville, Donna Deegan, called Buffalo's Mayor Sean Ryan to place a city versus city wager on the game. The two mayors put up a big bet that will not only highlight pride for the city that wins, but will also help the community.
According to Mayor Ryan of Buffalo, if the Bills lose this game against Jacksonville, Buffalo will send down a bunch of Western New York's best chicken wings, along with donating to the food bank, Feeding Northeast Florida. Now, if the Bills win and beat Jacksonville, the Mayor Deegan will send Buffalo some Mayport Shrimp and make a food donation to Feedmore of WNY.
What a way to show the love that both cities have for their teams, and the way we support our communities. Let's go, Buffalo!
