The day started out with some amazing weather as several Bills entered the Home Run Derby in an attempt to knock off the defending champion Josh Allen. The final round of the derby had Offensive Taclke Spencer Brown taking on Allen. After a few different rounds of them going back and forth, Brown was able to pull off an upset and defeat Josh Allen in a sudden death round.

As has been typical so far this spring a short rain delay caused a stoppage in play, but the rain delay wasn't all bad as Offense Lineman Greg Mancz decided to turn the rain tarp into a slip-n-slide during the rainstorms.

The actual game got underway with the Bills' offense taking on the defending champion Bills' defense in a 5-inning softball contest. The defense was able to jump out to a quick 7-1 lead against the offense after several home runs were hit. The game wasn't a blowout as the offense was able to rally and take the lead.

After some back and forth it was Micah Hyde himself who was able to seal the win for the defense by hitting a game-winning grand slam home run to give the Defense its 3rd straight victory against the offense with a score of 14 to 11.

While the game was for fun, the primary purpose was to raise money for various charities to help children in need. In total, nearly $500,000 was raised from the game. $20,000 is going to the King Urban Life Center. $50,000 is going to Oishei Children's Hospital. $400,000 to the IMagINe for Youth Foundation.

My name is on this charity game, but it is definitely the Buffalo Bills’ charity softball game and the City of Buffalo’s charity softball game.
