2015 served to be a year of triumphs and defeats for Philly born rapper Meek Mill and 2016 isn't looking very promising for at the time. Just as he seemed to be able to put his legal issues behind him, they're back with a vengeance as the rapper appeared in a Philadelphia court last week (Dec. 17) to dispute a probation violation. According to prosecutors, the Meek failed to procure a travel request in order to attend the 2015 American Music Awards in Los Angeles. He was found guilty of the violation and the judge scheduled a Feb. 5 hearing. If a looming sentence isn't enough to put a damper on the Holidays and the upcoming new year, Meek Mill he will be missing out on role in a Will Smith-produced film as he awaits Page Six reports.

As a result of his guilty verdict, Meek has reportedly been ordered not to work or travel until his sentencing. Due to a mandated urine test, the rapper missed a scheduled meeting in Los Angeles in regards to a role in the upcoming film 12 O’Clock Boys. The movie, based on a 2013 documentary, is based on the story of a group of West Baltimore dirt bike riders, and according to an undisclosed source Meek was reportedly tapped to play the character Wheelie Wayne. Meek will also be missing out on even more commas as he will have to sit out of an upcoming Las Vegas concert with Nicki Minaj.
According to tweets from WHYY-FM reported Bobby Allyn, Meek pled with his judge for a chance to wipe his slate clean.

“I don’t wanna be a criminal. I’m not a gangsta. But I’m not a perfect man…I have the potential to be greater than I am today,” he said.

Meek also earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song for “Fighting Stronger” from the Creed soundtrack and may miss out on the ceremony on Feb. 28th if he's mandated to serve jail time.

I'm curious to know what Nicki Minaj thinks about her boo potentially serving more time behind bars. Do you think she'll hold him down?
