Mean Girls, the new Broadway musical based on the 2004 teen comedy with a active younger and older following, will launch its national tour in Buffalo.

The Tony-nominated show, written by nine-time Emmy Award winner Tina Fey, will open at Shea's Performing Arts Center in the fall of 2019.

The Queen City will get a great breath of fresh air as the birthplace of the national tour. The cast and crew will be in town for rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the first public performance.

This reminds me of the other national plays that also premiered in buffalo, Finding Neverland (2016), On Your Feet! (2017) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that is happening this fall.
