Max B’s Old Lawyer Gerald Saluti Indicted for Conspiracy, Theft

Max B's former lawyer is in some serious trouble. According to NJ.com, Gerald Saluti was indicted on Wednesday (May 17) for misusing $140,000 and lying under oath in order to get away with his crime.

In an interesting note, Saluti is being charged alongside his partner, Richie Roberts, whose role in the takedown of heroin kingpin Frank Lucas was chronicled in the 2007 crime-drama, American Gangster.

According to New Jersey's Division of Criminal Justice, Roberts and Saluti worked alongside an administrator at their firm, the Saluti Law Group, to steal settlement money and escrow funds from four of their clients between 2012 and 2013.

The division's director, Elie Honig, says Roberts and Saluti "treated their attorney trust account like a personal slush fund that they spent on everything from cars and entertainment to, in Roberts' case, paying alimony." This doesn't sound good.

When a few of their clients started complaining about lost funds, Roberts and Saluti apparently tried to blame their administrator, Gabriel Iannacone. Iannacone pled guilty to third-degree theft charges back in January.

Saluti acted as Max B's attorney back in 2009, when he was charged with, “aggravated manslaughter, two counts of felony murder, three counts of armed robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery." As we all know now, Biggavel ultimately lost the case, and was eventually sentenced to 75 years in prison, though there's now some light at the end of the tunnel in regards to that.

Saluti couldn't be reached for comment, but Roberts claims he's innocent.
