Lockport's own Joe Taylor has won a new world title! In a knockout victory against Albuquerque, New Mexico's George Clynes, Taylor won the King of the Cage Middleweight World Title. The fight took place on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino Event Center. I had the pleasure of being the official DJ for the night.

There were five amateur fights prior to the King of the Cage Lightweight World Title Fight and the Middleweight fight. This was my first time DJing or attending a Mixed Martial Arts fight. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. The crowd definitely had energy and represented loudly for the Buffalo and WNY fighters. There were several opponents from Albuquerque and one from Canada.

For the Middleweight fight, it was clear as day that Taylor is a hometown hero, a crowd favorite. Fans were cheering him on. The fight started out a bit slow, but it seemed like Taylor's tactic was to tire his opponent out in the first couple of rounds. He is definitely a powerhouse. He has strength, quickness and he's smart about his fighting. His strategy was to win and he accomplished that. Congratulations to Taylor and his team. It was a great win for WNY.

After the fight, I got to take a picture in the cage, which was pretty dope (aside from having to step around some blood). It was a great experience to not only DJ, but to be a spectator at the King of the Cage MMA Fight Night. Check out some of the pics I took.
