Listen to Snoop Dogg & Gorillaz Team Up on New Song “Hollywood” [VIDEO]
Snoop Dogg and Gorillaz is the musical collaboration we never knew we needed... until now.
The brand new single, "Hollywood" is already generating buzz from Snoop and Gorillaz fans alike, but this isn't the first time they've joined forces. The "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper teamed up with the virtual band back in 2010 for the track "Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach," which was featured on Gorillaz's third studio album, Plastic Beach.
Gorillaz premiered "Hollywood" earlier this year during a live concert in Santiago, Chile. The band's sixth studio project, The Now Now is expected to be released on June 29.
"Then I came through with that big fat chain on my neck/ Little did they know, no sweat/ So I dimmed out, rimmed out and cracked the glass/ Twenty-five pounds, can you match that bag?" Snoop Dogg raps on the track's second verse. "Cause if you not, raise up/ I got a deal to make/And couple of bad bitches I've been making a break."
Recently, Snoop Dogg enjoyed new crossover success when he debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart with Bible of Love. The 32-track double-LP featured appearances from Erica Campbell, Marvin Sapp, Tye Tribbett and Charlie Wilson.
Gorillaz first rose to prominence nearly two decades ago with their debut single, "Clint Eastwood" featuring Del the Funky Homosapien. Rolling Stone ranked it No. 38 on its list of "100 Best Songs of the 2000s."
