Western New York City Enforces New Rules For Pools & Hot Tubs
It's hard to believe that we finally made it, but the warm weather has finally arrived in North America, and the people of Western New York are over the moon with excitement about the sun and fun that is on the horizon for us. As the thermostat continues to increase, people from Lockport to Lakeview are going to be looking for ways to cool off and be comfortable as the 70s turn to 80s and even 90s.
You might think that with how cold it gets in the Buffalo area, there wouldn't be a ton of pools at homes, but that isn't the case. There are tons of in-ground and above-ground pools all over the 716. From the city to the suburbs, many people don't have to run to the beach or public pools as they can just go to thier backyards to dip in the water.

If you own a pool or hot tub in the Empire State, then you know there are all types of rules you have to follow. Some communities can add additional rules to the mix that you need to know about, and that is exactly what's happening in one Western New York city, but with an added twist.
According to a social media post made by the City of Lackawanna, if you own a pool or hot tub, including a temporary or blow-up one, the rules you have to abide by are changing.
Now in Lackawanna, if you have a portable or inflatable pool or hot tub that is more than 24 inches deep, you need to have a city-issued permit.
As a result, inflatable and quick-set pools capable of holding more than 24 inches of water are now subject to the same safety and barrier requirements as permanent swimming pools... The City of Lackawanna will be actively enforcing these expanded pool requirements moving forward.
