Kat Dahlia had a need for speed early Tuesday morning (July 30) in Miami. The 'Gangsta' singer was arrested for DUI after cops pulled her over for speeding and smelled a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle.

She was taken into police custody just hours after celebrating her 23rd birthday on July 29. The police report details that Dahlia was driving a 2013 Nissan when she was pulled over by cops. Her speech was heavily slurred and she refused to exit the vehicle, according to authorities.

In addition, the songstress is accused of using profanity with the police officer and refusing to complete a field sobriety test. Subsequently, she was arrested, but allegedly resisted, refusing to place her hands behind her back. The officer then used force to place handcuffs on Dahlia, born Katriana Huguet.

According to the Associated Press, she’s being held on $2,000 bail after being booked for misdemeanor DUI and resisting arrest.

As part of her birthday celebration, the 'Fireman' creator boarded a boat named Dudeism.

'My Garden,' Dahlia's debut LP, is set to arrive in February 2014. The effort will likely feature songs like 'Gangsta' and 'Fireman.'
