Kanye West may be under the impression that he's the newest professor at the Art Institute of Chicago, but the school itself says that's not the case. After letting loose a tweet saying he'd be teaching a class at the prestigious institution, the school has released a statement saying there are no such plans.

It all started on Sunday (Sept. 9) when Kanye first spoke out on Twitter. "I will teach a course at the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art," he wrote. He later added that he wanted to put on Chicago Comedy Jam and restore the Regal Theatre.

However, a spokesperson told NBC Chicago on Monday (Sept. 10) that it was the first he'd heard of Kanye teaching at the School of Art Institute of Chicago.

'We're flattered that Mr West would have an interest in teaching emerging artists and designers at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. However, Mr West is not currently teaching at SAIC, and at this time, there are no plans for him to do so," they said.

Kanye has been back on Twitter in a major way since the beginning of the summer. Most recently he used the social media platform to express his support for Nike's new Just Do It campaign with Colin Kaepernick, to apologize to Drake for any bad blood between them and to tease a sequel to his collaborative album with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne.

The prospect of Watch the Throne 2 had fans extremely excited, but based off of 'Ye's tweets about the Art Institute of Chicago, it could be just talk.
