Check Out The Inside of The Junior League’s Decorators’ Show House In Buffalo
Buffalo is often a great place to be in the summertime. Just about everyday of the week there is some sort of great activity, show, concert, or event going on that draws hundreds or thousands of people to it.
It could be a world class lacrosse team winning their 5th championship title or it could be a community group gathering together to help raise millions of dollars for the community.
No matter what you may fancy, you can often find it right here in the 716.
One great event that I had the chance to check out is the 2023 Decorators' Show House, which is presented by the Junior League of Buffalo.
What Is The Junior League of Buffalo?
The Junior League, or JL for short, is a private non-profit woman's volunteer education organization that was initially founded in New York City in 1901. The Association of Junior Leagues International is made up of more than 290 individual JL chapters that are spread all over North America and the United Kingdom in Europe.
The Junior League of Buffalo was founded in 1919 and has served the Western New York area for more than 100 years.
What Is The Decorators' Show House?
Started in 1981, the Show House is an opportunity for local designers in an area to transform a house that has some historical significance to an area into a dream house. Each room in the house is taken over by a designer or contractor and remodeled using a theme of their choosing.
Over the last 42 years, JL has redone more than 20 houses with the proceeds being donated to local non-profits and community groups. Over the span of these projects, more than $4 million has been raised for local organizations.
The 2023 Decorators' Show House features art from more than 40 local artists and rooms designed by more than 30 local designers.
You can check out some of the art and rooms from the Show House below.
