TMZ reports that Juelz Santana surrendered to cops early Monday morning after fleeing from Newark International Airport Friday when TSA security found a gun in his carry-on.

The rapper was arrested at 1 a.m. by Port Authority Newark Airport police for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. According to TMZ, he also had an unspecified federal warrant.

As was previously reported, sources at the airport told NBC 4 New York that Santana, whose real name is LaRon Louis James, was going through a security screening at Terminal C at around 6 p.m. on March 10, when agents discovered the firearm. When TSA tried to confront the rapper, he ran off and possibly made his get away in a taxi.

His current legal woes aside, Juelz is finally set to release that long-awaited project with Lil Wayne, I Can't Feel My Face. Wayne teased that the project would be on the way soon on social media earlier this month.
