J. Cole’s ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’ Album Goes Triple Platinum
J. Cole's third studio album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, has reached triple platinum status.
On Wednesday (May 29), Dreamville confirmed Cole's latest accolade in a tweet with a link to the album. 2014 Forest Hills Drive went gold in 2015 a little over a month after it dropped in December 2014 with no features. The 13-track album, which includes fan favorites like "Wet Dreamz," "Fire Squad" and "No Role Modelz," went platinum a year later in January 2016. Then, nine months later in October 2016, the album achieved double platinum status.
"Triple 💿💿💿 #2014ForestHillsDrive @JColeNC #Dreamville," the label wrote in their celebratory tweet.
The latest notch under J. Cole's platinum belt comes after the North Carolina native's latest round of featured verses impacted the Internet. Cole recently jumped on Ty Dolla $ign's new song, "Purple Emoji." Then, a few days later, Cole shocked the masses with a guest verse on Young Thug's electric new single, "The London" alongside Travis Scott.
The awards may keep coming for Cole. After his song "Middle Child" became the first song of 2019 to go multiplatinum, BET revealed the nominees for the 2019 BET Awards in Los Angeles. Cole is up for at least four awards: Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice for his song "Middle Child" plus Best Collaboration and Video of the Year for his work on 21 Savage's "a lot."
