It has been a very, very, very long time since we have said a Buffalo Sabres player's name when mentioning post-season awards, but that changed this week.

Buffalo Sabres Captain Earns Postseason Award

This week it was announced that Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin was named to the NHL All-Star 2nd team. Unlike the All-Star game, where there is a player from each team, the postseason All-Star teams are made up of only ten players. Five on the first team, and five on the second team.

It was the first time that a Buffalo Sabres player was named to the postseason All-Star team. The last time that happened was back in 2010 when the Sabres' goaltender Ryan Miller was named to the first team all-star team.

The winners of these awards are voted on by NHL writers, so it really shows how well respected Dahlin's game is across the league.
