The Buffalo Sabres had one of their biggest offensive nights in the NHL playoffs in a must-win Game 6 against the Montreal Canadiens, scoring 8 goals in the victory. Their captain, Rasmus Dahlin, also had a career day in the win.

Rasume Dahlin Ties Buffalo Sabres Playoff Record

Dahlin got the Buffalo Sabres on the scoreboard in less than a minute when he scored one of the best goals of the series.


After getting the opening goal, Dahlin then became Captain Assist, getting four assists throughout the rest of the game. He ended Game 6 with a total of 5 points, which tied him for the Buffalo Sabres record for most points in a playoff game. He also became the first defenseman to score 5 points in a playoff game for the Buffalo Sabres

The other two Buffalo Sabres who also scored five points in a playoff game are John Tucker and Derek Roy. Derek Roy had 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) against the Ottawa Senators on May 5, 2006, and John Tucker had 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) against the Boston Bruins on April 10, 1988.

Buffalo Sabres Force Game 7 In Series Against Montreal

The Buffalo Sabres' offense came to life in a must-win Game 6 for the Atlantic Division Champions. Seven different players scored 8 goals to lead the Sabres to an 8-3 win over the Canadiens. The goals were the second-most goals ever scored by a Buffalo Sabres team in the playoffs.
