My wife Elizabeth is not a sports fan at all, but this season she is hoping the Buffalo Sabres offense comes alive and they have the lead in many games with just a couple of seconds left.

She really doesn't care about the score, but she is hoping the Sabres' opponent pulls their goalie and the Sabres can put one in the empty net. If they do, she will score some free chicken, and so can you.

The Sabres announced a new promotion where you can get a free Chick-fil-A sandwich this season when the Buffalo Sabres score an empty-net goal. So far, the Sabres have one this season and scored 27 empty-net goals last season, so there is a good chance you can get some free chicken.

How To Claim Your Free Chick-fil-A Sandwich

For your chance to score some free chicken, there are a couple of things you need to do, according to the Buffalo Sabres' website.

Download the Chick-fil-A App.

Open the app and claim the reward between postgame (the reward will be available in the app about 20 minutes after the empty net goal is scored) and 10:30 a.m. the next business day.

Your device must be in the Buffalo area and have location services turned on.

Once the offer is claimed, it can be redeemed via the Chick-fil-A® App within three business days. Redeem with a mobile order, or scan in-person at a participating location.

There are four locations where you can redeem your voucher for a free chicken sandwich.
