It looks like the cold and snow will be here in Western New York for at least several more weeks.

Buffalo Bert likes to get a jump on his cousin from Pennsylvania Punxsutawney Phil and usually tried to make his prediction ahead of Groundhogs Day.

This weekend, Buffalo Bert came out and saw his shadow during a fundraiser at Flying Bison Brewing Company.

This is the 10th year that Buffalo Bert has been part of the fundraiser that helps raise money for local animals in need,

At the event on Saturday, there were some wild creatures from Hawk Creek Sanctuary, which is where Buffalo Bert lives.

So will Bert's cousin Punxsutawney Phil agree or disagree with his prediction? We will find out later this week.

The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club will host their annual Groundhog Day celebration along with Phil’s prediction on Thursday at Gobbler’s Knob. Phil's prediction will be made around 7:20 am each year.

As for the forecast, it looks like Buffalo Bert is spot on at least for the next couple of days. A major cold front is set to sweep through the area and we will see temperatures drop into the 20s and low 30s this week.

We will even see the temperatures drop into the teens on Friday and Saturday with a low near -2 on Friday night.

Good thing Buffalo Bert and Punxsutawney Phil have all that fur, because it is going to get cold.
