Is This Western New York Intersection Changing?

As the Erie County Fair begins, there is a meeting planned to discuss a dangerous intersection near the fairgrounds in Hamburg, New York.

The Erie County Fair is what many consider to be "the best 12 days of summer". The food, the rides, games and attractions will bring in around a million people again over the nearly two week run of the fair. That also means plenty of added traffic.

The intersection of McKinley at Clark Street is one of the most dangerous in Western New York. Depending on the time of day and day of the week, it feels like you are in a game of chicken with oncoming traffic as there is no turn arrow or round about to help the flow of traffic.

A meeting is taking place this weekend to discuss the future of the intersection and will come at a time when people are headed to either the Erie County Fair or the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts preseason game at Highmark Stadium!

It was 6 years ago that I recorded a video showing how tricky it can be to navigate the intersection.

The Erie County Fair will be lighting up the sky over Hamburg each night around 9:30.

From concerts to corn festivals and rodeos, there is something for every family to enjoy this weekend and it is a great preview to what some call the Best 12 Days of Summer!
