Terry Pegula Releases Statement About Snow at Highmark Stadium

The Buffalo Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday in the wild card round on Sunday, 31-17.

Despite the game not being a runaway win, the Bills had it in control the entire way. That was despite all of the injuries on defense and Pittsburgh reducing the lead in the second half. Bills quarterback Josh Allen played incredible and accounted for all four touchdowns.

However, the snow was a huge storyline before and even during the game, despite it not snowing at kickoff.

The lake effect snowstorm, which hit Western New York this past weekend, caused blizzard conditions and forced the game to be moved to Monday at 4:30 pm.

However, there was nowhere near enough time to get the stands in the stadium ready in time. The travel ban in Orchard Park wasn't lifted until Monday morning, with fans being allowed to help shovel at the stadium during the overnight hours.

While some snow was cleared from seats, many rows were covered in heavy snow. Fans had to improvise and carve out space to sit, while others simply had to stand the entire time. It was rough but a Bills win cures all.

On Tuesday, Bills owner Terry Pegula released a statement regarding the stadium conditions and thanking fans for their enthusiasm during the game on Sunday.

The Bills next take on the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at 6:30 pm. It's the AFC Divisional round and the first time the Chiefs have been in Orchard Park with fans since 2015. It's also the first ever time that Patrick Mahomes will play a road playoff game.

There's a lake effect snowstorm that will last through Thursday, but Friday and Saturday should be smooth sailing and offer enough cleanup time for the stadium.
