The Bills take on the Patriots on Sunday in a game that has little meaning with regard to the standings.  But it will mean a lot to at least one Buffalo native player.

The Bills are headed to Foxboro on Sunday to take on the New England Patriots.  At this point it means very little to the Bills.  They've already locked up their spot in the playoffs and a win or a loss means nothing.  They will just want to come out more healthy than they come into the game.

But for Buffalo's Joe Andreessen, it's going to be a chance to show what he can really do in a professional game.  Andreessen is a Lancaster native who came to the Bills from the University of Buffalo.  He surprised a lot of people in the preseason simply by making the team.  In the spring, he was invited to join the team for one of rookie minicamps and he must have impressed while he was there.  He was offered a spot at training camp to earn a spot onto the team.  Which is exactly what he did.  He had some big preseason games and was offered a spot on the roster.

So far this year, he's mostly done his part to help out on special teams but Coach McDermott says we can expect to see "quite a bit" of him on Sunday.  Terrel Bernard is dealing with an injury and his backup Baylon Spector is on IR already.  Andreessen is what they call in sports the "next man up."

Last week, Andreessen only played about a quarter's worth of football when the Bills were ahead of the Jets by 40 heading into the 4th.  He still ended up leading the team in tackles with 8.  He seems to have a knack for being around the ball.

In Buffalo we're all rooting for "Buffalo Joe."  While it's not a game that the Bills need, we're hoping to see him shine in a full game.
