Weather Could Spoil Halloween In Western New York
In Western New York, you never know what kind of weather you are going to get, and parents have been watching the weather forecasts in anticipation for Halloween.
Typically, Halloween nights have been generally chilly, with an average high of 54 degrees and a low of 39 degrees. However, this year’s Halloween forecast is turning out to be out of the ordinary.
Based on predictions from local meteorologists, it looks like Halloween 2024 is going to be one of the warmest Halloweens on record in Western New York, potentially even breaking the record. That is great news for trick-or-treaters that had high hopes of not wearing a coat this year.
Unfortunately, trick-or-treaters may have to wear a rain jacket of some kind, because showers are expected on the night of Halloween, potentially spoiling the night of candy and sweets.
Patrick Hammer, the Chief Meteorologist at WGRZ, said that rain is likely in the evening, so you may want to wrap up the Halloween festivities a little earlier than previous years. Or – you could always wear a rain jacket with your costume.
According to weather reports from Mike Cejka, local meteorologist at WIVB, the evening showers start around 7 PM, which is in the middle of a lot of neighborhood trick-or-treat times. The winds could reach up to 15 mph, which will make it feel a little colder – especially with the rain showers in the evening.
Thankfully it doesn’t look like it will snow at all, but don’t let the weather spoil your Halloween. Make sure you have a rain jacket with you just in case you get caught trick-or-treating in some showers.
