Whether it’s a restaurant, bar, retail store, or even (yup) a funeral home, we all know a clever business name can skyrocket you to local fame and send customers flocking to your location. There are plenty of unique business names in Western New York, but let’s be honest - a few are downright hilarious. 

The first time a friend drove past an Amigone Funeral Home location, they thought it was a joke. “Are you serious?!” they exclaimed, clutching over and almost snorting.

Admittingly, the name still makes us giggle, but it can be exasperating for Buffalo residents to explain over and over to out-of-towners that the name isn’t fake.

So many of these businesses are legendary in Buffalo, and some have even sparked viral memes. We love going to many of these places (okay, admittingly, there’s one we’d prefer not to), but they all have one thing in common - their names are side-splitting, and we love to say them and laugh.
