He might be one of the most well-known names in the NFL, and the Bills just re-signed him for the 2026-2027 season.

Brandon Beane is working around the clock to fill more holes before the draft gets here on April 23rd.

The Buffalo Bills have re-signed Damar Hamlin

Today, the Bills announced that they've re-signed the well known safety for one more year.

Hamlin's best season would probably be the 2024-2025 season. That's when he recorded his first interception and his first fumble recovery. He was also able to get a strip sack on Lamar Jackson in January 2025.

The 2025-2026 season ended early for Damar Hamlin

Unfortunately, last season ended quickly for Damar Hamlin. His stat sheet is nearly empty. The only stat he shows in the 2025-2026 season is for one solo tackle. He played in just 5 games as a backup to Taylor Rapp and Cole Bishop before being placed on Injured Reserve for the rest of the season. He suffered a pectoral injury at practice just before the Bills' Monday night game against the Falcons and didn't return.

Hamlin is most well-known for the cardiac arrest that he suffered on a Monday night game against the Bengals at the end of the 2022-2023 season. Many people thought it would be the end of his career, but he was able to make an incredible comeback.

The Bills now have 5 safeties on the roster

At the end of the season, the safety position was looking pretty thin. After cutting Taylor Rapp, The Bills had just Cole Bishop and Wande Owens who was an undrafted rookie that they signed in 2025. Since then, they've signed CJ Gardner-Johnson and Geno Stone. With the addition of Damar Hamlin, they've got 5 safeties on the roster prior to the draft.
