Popular Chain No Longer Opening New Western New York Spot
Chick-fil-A was recently named America's favorite restaurant, and hungry customers seem to agree based on the number of them popping up across Western New York.
There are currently three Chick-fil-A locations in operation in the Buffalo area, including in Hamburg on McKinley Parkway, Transit Road in Depew, and in Cheektowaga by the Walden Galleria.
Two more were planned to open their doors to Western New York fans of the franchise, including in Niagara Falls in the Esporta Plaza on Niagara Falls Boulevard. But another that was set to come to the Northtowns will no longer be coming after all.
Chick-fil-A No Longer Opening In Clarence, New York
It’s a sad day for Chick-fil-A fans in Clarence.
Buffalo Business First reports that the beloved chicken chain has scrapped plans for a new location where Applebee’s used to be at Eastgate Plaza. The proposed location was set to be 5,000-square-feet with a drive-thru, spanning 1.3-acres at the front of the plaza, but due to area traffic concerts, the project is now DOA.
“It’s our understanding the numbers just didn’t work out and they were unable to move forward knowing what the town would require. ‘- John Bleuer, director of community development, Town of Clarence
This isn’t the first time that a new Chick-fil-A was set to open in Western New York only to have the plans revoked. A proposed site in Delaware Consumer Square near Kenmore was briefly put into motion, only to have the plans cancelled.
For now, until the new Niagara Falls location opens, Western New York lovers of Chick-fil-A will have to live with these three local spots:
- 4942 Transit Rd, Depew
- 3464 McKinley Pkwy, Hamburg
- 1753 Walden Ave, Cheektowaga
