Bills fans have been hungry for Matt Milano's return to the field.  The Bills think it is still possible to see it happen this year.

The Buffalo Bills defense has been pretty stout.  Aside from just a couple of games (Baltimore, Houston, and Arizona), they've held most of the teams they've played to 20 points or less.  Their point differential is the second-best in the NFL with only the Lions ahead of them.  For a team that started the season with so many of the previous year's starters on other teams, the Bills seem to have fared well through the first 8 games.

That's without their all-pro linebacker Matt Milano on the field.  He's a player that has really been able to change a game on his own.  He was a dominant force until he broke his leg in a game against the Jaguars in London last year.

Fans were very excited to see this defense with both Milano and Terrel Bernard healthy again.  Unfortunately, an injury in training camp shut that down.  Milano tore his bicep during practice and was put on Injured Reserve.

There is hope though that he could return before the end of the year.  When asked about a timeline during a press conference today, Coach Sean McDermott confirmed there is still a chance.

While some were discouraged that McDermott didn't give a timeline of when we could expect him out there, most feel like it was a positive statement by the coach.  They just got the feeling that he didn't want to give a timeline and then have fans get discouraged if he wasn't back by the time they gave.

It will be huge when the Bills announce that Matt Milano's 21-day window to return is opening.  If this defense is this good without all these star players, think of the potential for them to return and be healthy right before the playoffs.
