Is reality TV really real? To tackle this complex question one must first break down the definition of reality TV. According to Wikipedia Reality television is a television program that presents purportedly unscripted melodramatic or "humorous" situations, documents actual events, and usually features ordinary people instead of professional actors. Reality TV it self is nothing new its been around since 1948. Remember the Candid Camera series with Alan Funt's, or was that before your time? Whether you prefer to cheer for your favorite singer on American Idol, or you love to see grown woman fight in the club, (insert any other reality show here). From Love and Hip Hop to the Basketball Wives, to New Jersey House Wives, trust me the list goes on. Some feel the situation have become to outrageous to be real every season trying to out do the previous . Reality or fiction, either way these types of shows rack in millions of viewers each season. The scariest thought to me is what the next generation may produce. If we grew up with candid camera and they grow up with The Bad Girls Club, what’s next ? Well its ten o’clock I must go see who’s pulling who’s hair out this week, don’t judge me. When it comes to that age old question, Is reality television real? You be the judge.
