After an 8-year hiatus, Brandy has released her seventh studio album, b7. Her last album was released in 2012. Brandy co-wrote and co-produced the album, which she told me "was a beautiful experience." Her daughter Sy’Rai joined Brandy on the album for their first duet, “High Heels.” Brandy told me her latest single, Borderline, is her favorite song on the album. She also talked about 'Moesha' being available for streaming on Netflix.

Brandy talked to me about why it's been 12 years since her last album release.

"I really needed it, I really need to get my music into a better place, a better foundation, where I felt safe to create and I felt like I was respected and my music could be respected. And I would get the kind of creative freedom I've worked so hard to get."
