It was a tense situation that sounds like part of a movie on Tuesday afternoon as police responded to a hostage situation in Irving, NY.

According to reports, the incident took place on Route 438 after a car crash and lasted until late Tuesday and the investigation is ongoing.

There was a large police presence as can been seen in the video from Twitter and Channel 4.

In the story from Channel 4, it was reported that

New York State Police tell News 4 it started as a high speed chase between a State Trooper and a man wanted in Chautauqua County for burglary.

There were multiple police agencies that responded and it sure had be scary for anyone that witnessed the standoff. We travel that area often and can't imagine what it would have been like to see the incident in person. Thank goodness it all ended without any serious injuries or fatalities.
