Young ladies ages 9 to 17 are invited to join us for our free 'Run the World (Girls) EmPOWERment Event on Saturday, September 7th! Get more details on the workshops and get registered! This event is FREE and will empower the young ladies, ages 9 to 17, who attend! They will be connected with women leaders here in Buffalo! They will be able to participate in workshops that will allow them to explore their interests, experience personal growth and learn tools that will help them as they become young ladies!

This event is powered by the Buffalo Police Department, City of Buffalo, Shea's Performing Arts Center, D'Youville College and Power 93.7 WBLK!

The event will be held from 12 pm to 4 pm at D'Youville College. Check-in will take place from noon to 12:45 on the 6th floor of the D’Youville Academic Center. Workshops will take place within the same building. This event is completely FREE! We will provide a light lunch during check-in.

Deja is a certified makeup artist from JLS Makeup School in Hollywood, California. Trained in traditional makeup for beauty, bridal, fashion, film/TV and print. She is very passionate in her makeup artistry and it shows in all of her client interactions and makeup applications. Her goal is to enhance the natural beauty of each client. Deja has worked on video sets, photo shoots, and concerts. Her most recent clients include Buffalo’s own Amber Simone and Joy the Drummer. She now offers personal and group makeup lessons at Luxury Beauty & Co. and works to create the perfect look desired for each person.

Learn the basics of physical improvisation through games like Airplane, Family Portrait, Hitchhiker, and Freeze Tag. Also, enjoy a backstage tour of the Kavinoky Theatre, located right on the D’Youville campus. No acting experience needed!

Charnice has been dancing since age 3 and now dance is a huge part of her life. Since working for the Emslie YMCA she created different dance cardio routines for her clients. She enjoys motivating and helping her clients achieve their fitness goals all while having fun and challenging them to reach their full potential.

Alisha holds a passion for the Beauty Industry and has been a licensed professional for 12 years. Straight from high school, she pursued her career as a cosmetologist and later went to school for a second time to further her education in Esthetics as an Esthetician. She's the owner of Wise Choice Rejuvenation Co, which is a beauty studio offering all Esthetics Services located in Buffalo, N.Y. In addition, she’s a Makeup Educator at a local Beauty School. Alisha loves everything about the beauty industry and takes every opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills. Aside from her Cosmetology and Teacher licenses in NYS she's also licensed in Florida and hold additional certifications such as Lash Extensions and Air Brush Makeup certificates. She enjoys networking with other business owners and participating in events. Alisha is also the Vice President of Zeta Amicae of Buffalo N.Y which is an adult auxiliary sponsored by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Her favorite thing about being a member of Zeta Amicae is building a connection with her community through community service.
