There’s word that baseball legend Hank Aaron has established a $100,000 scholarship at Clark Atlanta University to help students pay for their education.  The money is coming from the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation.   It’s for students pursuing careers in public service, teaching, social work, humanities, science and medicine.

According to hiphopwired.com, the first scholarship recipient is Elise Barnes from Naperville, IL. The early childhood education major received a $4,000 award last fall.

The foundation hopes to fund 12 such scholarships at colleges and universities all across the country. The name of the scholarship is “4 for 4.” It references the 12 times in Aaron’s baseball career he went 4 for 4 at bat.
