Gorilla Zoe has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

According to Florida's Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrest records, the former Bad Boy South artist was arrested for battery on Sunday (Nov. 3).

In a story TMZ published on Monday, the 38-year-old Florida rapper was reportedly arrested at Islamorada, Fla.'s La Siesta Resort & Marina. Apparently, security spotted Zoe engaging in a heated argument with a woman on his hotel balcony. The incident reportedly led the resort's security staff to call the police.

Security personnel told cops on the scene that Zoe, who dropped his Don't Feed Da Animals 2 project earlier this year, tried to push the woman, whom they claim is his girlfriend, into his hotel room. When she refused, the rapper allegedly shoved her onto the floor. Police say the woman eventually managed to get off the balcony and into the room, then locked him out. After he reportedly pounded and kicked on the sliding-glass window separating the balcony from the room, his girlfriend let him back into the room.

Once police arrived, they reportedly saw Zoe pin the woman down in the room. Cops say that's when they halted the scuffle and placed the rapper in handcuffs. After police took him away, the woman in question began to defend Zoe by claiming that he usually gets crazy when he drinks but he never brings her physical harm.

"We always drink and argue, nothing more. He's never gotten physical with me. Isn't that what happens when everyone drinks?" the woman reportedly told responding officers.

Zoe was arrested and booked for battery. He was released from police custody an hour later once he posted a $2,500 bond.
