Flight Attendants’ Jobs Are About To Get Harder In New York
We have a ton of friendly flight attendants that are based out of New York, and it looks as though their jobs are about to get harder.
Let me start this with "I hope that I'm wrong here." But I don't think I will be.
The TSA just announced today that they are going to extend the mask mandate on all planes through April 18th.
This means that people are going to have to wear a mask on all planes and public transportation until they decide to "ease or eliminate the rule"
Now here's the problem...
People are going maskless just about everywhere else in the United States. They can go to churches, movie theaters, and arenas with thousands of other people and not need a mask (or in many cases - to be vaccinated).
But on a plane, they will need to wear a mask, for the time being.
In my opinion, that's not even the biggest problem. The biggest problem is the people who will take it out on a flight attendant who has to tell them to keep it on.
Unfortunately, the flight attendants don't get to make the rules. However, it's their job to enforce them. Would they prefer to make sure your flight is as comfortable as possible? Yes. Would they rather just ensure that your flight is a safe one? Sure they would!
However, this is how they pay their bills. Whether they agree with the rules or not, they shouldn't have to deal with unruly passengers like they've had to deal with over the last couple of months. It's fine to disagree, but don't give the people who have no say in the policy a problem. Respect that they're trying to do their job to put food on the table or don't fly until something changes.
