Border Patrol Agents in Buffalo seized fake NFL jerseys, including a Josh Allen one. As we get closer to Christmas and people are doing their holiday shopping, the agency warns consumers to buy from reputable retailers to help avoid ending up with counterfeit goods.

Buffalo Acting Director of Field Operations Sharon Swiatek tweeted,

It's football season so we are ready for a QB sneak, but please shop wisely this holiday season and purchase your gifts from reputable companies. Our #CBP Port of Buffalo officers recently discovered these "sneaky" counterfeit jerseys.

It's not clear how the agents recognized that the jerseys were fakes. At least three NFL quarterback jerseys were seized - Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. I guess if you were going to choose some players to bootleg jerseys for, they certainly make good candidates.

The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agency has a website dedicated to educating people about the dangers of purchasing fake goods. Not only do they say it affects the economy, but there are also health and safety implications.

Many counterfeit products are low-quality and can cause injuries. Protect yourself and your family by avoiding potentially risky items.
