Yesterday, a federal jury convicted a Virginia pastor and wife for a $2 million fraud scheme that victimized investors and members of own their congregation.

53-year-old Terry Wayne Millende, the former senior pastor of Victorious Life Church in Alexandria and 57-year-old Brenda Millender were involved in a Nigerian oil scheme, and were accused of using the money to pay for personal expenses like golf trips, birthday parties, and to buy their $1.75 million house.

Taking gods money for personal expenses is ludicrous!

“Prosecutors said the couple recruited investors for companies they said provided small loans to poor people in developing countries and helped broker Nigerian oil deals,” the Associated Press reports. To conceal how they used the money, sources says they “falsely assured investors that they would get their money back and blamed delays in repaying investors on the 2008 financial crisis.”
