It has been so beautiful to see the outpouring of support for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. After he collapsed on the field and had to be resuscitated using CPR, the whole country has been praying for his speedy recovery. I've seen lots of social media posts, light displays, signs, and visual art showings for support.
Here are some of the tribute art pieces I found as I was scrolling through Instagram. First up, I saw a video that @Discover716 posted of an amazing, one-of-a-kind work of art that a man created as a tribute to #3.
The artist's name is Dylan Sadiq. He is known as @TheCollegeCuber_ on Instagram. He is definitely a professional cube artist, check out his page and you'll see some of your favorite athletes and celebrities. The guy's work is really unique.
This drawing is really good!
This person created some cookie art as a tribute to Damar.
And if cookies aren't sweet enough, here's a whole cake.
Some of the pieces I've found are very interesting, but it's the thought that counts.
Thankfully, Damar has made some progress recovering from the cardiac arrest he suffered on the field as the Bills were taking on the Cincinnati Bengals at Nati. That game, by the way, has officially been canceled.
While it's not clear how long his recovery will take, the Bills said that he is communicating and even wanted to know who won the game!
Damar's GoFundMe page for his 501c3 charity, Chasing M's, has raised $7,660,700 thanks to generous people in Western New York and all around the country.
Damar created The Chasing M’s Foundation to use as a vehicle to bring lasting impact to his community. The foundation supports toy drives, back-to-school drives, kids camps, and more. We're hopeful about Damar's future involvement in disbursing the incredibly generous contributions.
Some of the top donors include:
Jim Irsay & Indianapolis Colts $25,003
Sheets Laundry Club $25,003
Robert Kraft and The New England Patriots $18,003
Cleveland Browns $10,003
New Era Cap Foundation $10,003
Houston Texans $10,003
