It is an exciting week for all of Western New York! The Aquarium of Niagara has announced a new exhibit that will be perfect for families!

In a news release sent to Townsquare Media Buffalo, the Aquarium of Niagara revealed that:

An exhibit featuring unique dwarf cuttlefish, under the sponsorship of BankOnBuffalo, opens officially at the Aquarium of Niagara -- marking the first time in the Aquarium’s 56-year history that cuttlefish will be available for public viewing.

Cuttlefish are cephalopods and are related to octopus, squid, and nautilus. Each has a unique look with eight arms, three hearts, two feeding tentacles, w-shaped eye pupils and a ring-shaped brain. Cuttlefish can also squirt ink, just like octopus and squid.

There are some other great events that are taking place this year at The Aquarium of Niagara this year. Some of them will make for the perfect date night as well.

With the COVID-19 restrictions and mandates being lifted, there are so many great things to look forward to this summer. From the sold-out Toyota Taste of Country in June at Sahlen Field to the family fun at The Aquarium, get ready for what could be the best summer yet around Western New York.

We took our kids to the Aquarium of Niagara a few weeks back and it was a great time! Our sons are all under 6-years-old and they really enjoyed seeing the penguins and watching them at feeding time. We are lucky to have a facility so close that offers so much and is such a great place to learn.
