One of the great things about summertime in Buffalo and Western New York is that the warmer weather opens tons of different activities for us to engage in when outside.

Buffalo has many great places to hang out during the summer, which also means it's the perfect time to get married and have a wedding reception.

Of course, you shouldn't get married just because it's nice outside or because we're not getting any younger. So if you're getting married for the right reasons, that makes the best part about weddings even that much sweeter.

The Wedding reception and party.

As a DJ who routinely has the honor to serve couples as entertainment for their receptions, the party that comes after the vows are exchanged is often super fun and exciting. We all look forward to the food, fellowship, and fun that comes when you celebrate the creation of a new family... And of course, the party, who can forget the party?

I have DJ'ed several hundred weddings in my career and many of those have gone long into the night with people dancing away to some of their favorite songs. But, sometimes there are a few songs that play at a wedding that some people are simply tired of listening to.

So exactly what songs are popular at weddings, but have unfortunately overstayed their welcome? To know exactly what songs we should cut from the next wedding, I went to Facebook and asked our network to suggest some songs. Here are the top ones you listed.

Here Are 5 Songs We Should Stop Playing At Weddings in Buffalo

Montell Jordan - This Is How We Do It

This remains one of my favorite songs from the 1990s, but I can admit that maybe we play it a bit too much at weddings.

The Chicken Dance

Quite a few people put this song on their do-not-play list, and I agree that this is exactly where this song should be.

Rednex - Cotton Eyed Joe

This is another song that should be banned from playing anywhere, for any reason. It's just bad.

Jagged Edge - Let's Get Married (Remarkable Remix)

Just in case you don't have any other reason to get married, you should probably do it since we're not getting any younger.

DJ Casper - The Cha Cha Slide

Just about everyone is sick of line dances, but they will absolutely get on the dance floor when you play one, a paradox if we've ever seen one.

Items That Almost All Weddings Should Have

Wedding season is approaching, although some of the weddings that are happening, probably just got put together at the last minute, due to the now loosened restrictions. DJs, photographers, venus, and pretty much all wedding vendors have been extremely excited to hear the news. Now, let's be honest, I think there are going to be some people still a little nervous about taking off their masks, and I'm sure there are going to be some venus that is still gonna require it until New York State decides to follow the CDC guidelines. Before your big day arrives, there are some things you should make sure these items are on point.
