Buffalo Residents Could See More Job Opportunities At The Airport
According to WGRZ, the TSA is looking to hire 6,000 airport security screening officers. With the COVID-19 vaccinations becoming more available, the Transportation Security Administration is expecting more people to start traveling again. The travel industry has been down compared to the number of people that were traveling before the pandemic
Security screening officers are going to be needed for approximately 430 airports nationwide, which means there could be an opportunity for residents here in our community that may be looking for a new job.
TSOs are a critical first line of defence in securing our nation's commercial air transportation system. Each day, our officers screen hundreds of thousands of airline travelers ensuring they arrive at their destination safely. We expect to screen a higher number of travelers regulary by the summer months and we will need additional officers to support our critical mission.
said, Melanie Harvey, acting Executive Assistant Administrator for TSAs, according to WGRZ.
There will be full-time and part-time positions available, back in the 90s, I spent a short time working in the Miami International Airport, from what I can remember, working in the airport can be a very intense job, and that was before the 911 tragedy. There is a video, "A Day In A Life of A TSO" if you are interested in seeing what this job is all about.

In my experience with dealing with anyone in the airline industry, they all seem to be pretty pleased with the career path they chose.
