A Buffalo man has been charged after he lied to police about his 9-year-old song being in a vehicle he reported stolen. Jaron Quarles told police that his son was in the vehicle he reported stolen on Saturday, January 30. It was taken from a mini-mart. According to WIVB, Buffalo Police have charged Quarles with falsely reporting an incident. He may face additional charges, according to Channel 4. Police say that he reported his son was in the back seat of the car in order to get a faster response from police.

“Buffalo Police would like to remind motorist of the dangers associated with leaving your vehicle engine running and leaving the vehicle unattended.” ~ WIVB

A vehicle was stolen in Buffalo, with a 9-year-old in the back seat.  According to the Buffalo Police Department, the carjacking happened around Orleans Street and Lasalle Venue in Buffalo.  The blue Mazda 6, with a New York license plate, number JPN6991, was stolen around 8:30 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2021, according to WKBW.  The Buffalo Police tweeted an alert about the vehicle,

BPD is investigating a car that was stolen at 8:30pm tonight from the area of Orleans and Lasalle with the keys in it and running with a 9 year old boy in the back seat. The vehicle is a newer blue Masada 6 with NY plates JPN6991. If anyone sees this vehicle, call 911!

 

The boy was found safely, not long after the alert went out.  The vehicle, however, was not located at the time,

Update: The child from the stolen vehicle has been located safe and sound. The vehicle is still outstanding.
